Nigel Clark

Senior Adviser, International Growth

Nigel helps law firms turn international ambition into a clear strategy for growth. Alongside chairing MD Communications’ advisory board, he works directly with our international clients on cross-border relationships, referral strategies and the leadership decisions that support successful expansion.

A lawyer qualified in Australia and the UK, Nigel has lived and worked across Australia, Asia and Europe. His career includes roles as an associate at Wilde Sapte (now Dentons), an equity partner at MinterEllison, co-founder of Peregrine Law and CEO of Nexa, where he remains a non-executive director. He is also Global Relations Consultant at Hall & Wilcox, supporting the firm’s international relationships.

Nigel’s board experience extends beyond the legal sector to listed and privately owned companies. He has held non-executive directorships across Australia, the UK, Jersey, Singapore, Germany, the Netherlands and the US, bringing first-hand insight into different business cultures, governance environments and the commercial realities of operating internationally.

He combines this wider boardroom experience with a practical understanding of how international work is won. He helps clients identify where to focus, strengthen relationships with overseas firms and connect their international strategy with the way their business operates.
