Marketing Director

Ruth leads on marketing and communications strategy, drawing on her extensive in-house experience in legal and financial services. With a deep business development background, she brings a pragmatic results-focused approach to marketing and business growth.

Ruth started her career as a sales executive for online database company Datastar, one of just two worldwide at the time, then moved into corporate finance research at Bankers Trust. She later specialised in business planning and growth as a Director at Deutsche Bank.

She was appointed Head of BD at Simmons & Simmons, one of its first senior level out-of-sector appointments, stepping into the Director of BDM role during a major restructure. Ruth then moved to Cripps where she was Director of BD & Marketing for over nine years, where she led the BD & comms on two mergers, project managed two rebrands and transformed the BD effectiveness of the firm. Most recently, she was Director of Marketing at Payne Hicks Beach, where she set up the central marketing function, led the firm’s rebrand, and refreshed its directories and digital marketing.

Ruth draws on the combination of analytical, marketing and sales skills to help clients develop marketing strategies, improve relationship sales, build sector strategies, win bids and improve directories rankings. She has project managed CRM system implementations and client listening programmes and has also designed and led numerous multi-channel internal and external brand activation programmes, increasing brand recognition, loyalty and advocacy with regional, national and international audiences.
