Partner and Head of International, Directories & Bids Linsay Leslie is quoted in The Times, in an article on the value of legal directories following the recent strike by Legal 500 researchers.
The article, written by Catherine Baksi, considers whether Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 remain worth the considerable time and money firms invest in their submissions.
Discussing how AI has made being ranked more important, Linsay explains:
“If someone asks an AI tool to recommend lawyers or firms for a particular type of work, Chambers and Legal 500 are exactly the structured third-party sources it is drawing on.”
Sharing the piece on LinkedIn, Linsay added that firms miss the real value of directories:
“When submissions are treated as a standalone exercise or cost centre, rather than as a key part in delivering overall firm strategy, reputation and growth.”
