MD Communications unveils new Global Rankings & AI Innovation Director and Ranking Copilot partnership

Sarah Bridgman joins MD Communications as Global Rankings & AI Innovation Director, alongside a partnership announcement with Ranking Copilot Ltd, an AI-powered automation platform for legal rankings and directories.

We are excited to share two significant updates from the MD Communications team this month.

A new addition to the MD Communications team

We are delighted to welcome Sarah Bridgman to the team as our new Global Rankings & AI Innovation Director.

Sarah brings over 20 years’ experience in the legal sector, including eight years leading the directories programme at Shoosmiths and more than a decade as a criminal lawyer.

A driving force behind teaching firms how to use AI to transform their rankings programmes, Sarah said:

“I’ve long admired MD Communications for its ambition, innovation and exceptional people, so joining the team feels like a natural fit. As AI becomes available to everyone, the real competitive advantage lies in knowing how to use it.

“My role is to be the ‘human in the loop’, combining AI with strategic thinking, market insight and experience to help firms build stronger strategies and deliver better results for clients.”

Welcome to the MD Communications team Sarah!

Our strategic collaboration with Ranking Copilot

Alongside Sarah’s arrival, we are excited to share that MD Communications has signed a collaboration with Ranking Copilot, one of the most advanced AI-powered workflow platforms in the legal rankings market, and the only legal tech solution currently working alongside Chambers and Partners.

The collaboration will see Ranking Copilot’s technology integrated into MD Communications’ directories and rankings process, combining the platform’s AI-driven capabilities with the firm’s editorial expertise and strategic insight.

Melissa Davis, MD Communications founder and CEO, said:

AI is transforming legal directories, but technology alone isn’t enough. The best results come from combining intelligent automation with experienced advisers who understand what Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR and other directories are really looking for. That’s exactly what we’re building.”

Commenting on the partnership, Dmytro Fedoruk, Founder of Ranking Copilot, said:

“Our collaboration brings together the power of Ranking Copilot’s AI with MD Communications’ unrivalled strategic insight, editorial expertise and deep understanding of what drives success in legal directories.

“The result is a smarter, faster and more effective approach, with experienced people at the heart of every decision.”

Looking ahead

Partner Linsay Leslie, who led the initiative, will continue to lead MD Communications’ international growth and legal directories practice and work alongside Ranking Copilot, Sarah, and the wider MD Communications team to help lead the way in bringing AI-driven, expert-led insight to legal directories submissions.

CEO Melissa Davis outlined these exciting new capabilities:

“Incorporating Sarah’s exceptional editorial expertise and strategic insight into the MD Communications team, alongside Ranking Copilot’s industry-leading use of AI, will enable us to help firms embrace AI while ensuring every submission is driven by strategic thinking, editorial judgement and compelling evidence. For MD Communications, this is just the beginning.”
